Cosmetic or facial acupuncture can deal with all wrinkles that can also be reduced with chemical substances. The great advantage of acupuncture is that no neurotoxic substances are used.
How does cosmetic acupuncture work?
By applying tiny acupuncture needles to the right places in the skin, blood circulation is stimulated and the balance between the facial muscles restored. After approximately six week the collagen (the protein responsible for the skin’s firmness and elasticity) returns and the wrinkle is filled from within.
Facial acupuncture does not only effectively treat wrinkles, it can also be deployed in a whole range of other ailments, for example:
- Facial paralysis
- Facial pains
- Drooping eyelids
- Melasma (discolouring of the face due to hormonal changes)
- Bags, dark circles under eyes
- Weakened jaw structure
- Coarse pores
- Matte complexion
- Bloated face
- Dry skin, skin lacking in moisture, or shiny skin
How often is cosmetic acupuncture needed?
How often you personally need cosmetic acupuncture, depends on your skin’s condition. In general, 12 to 15 treatments are needed, twice a week at first, then less frequently. After a couple of years the effects have disappeared and the treatment can be repeated, should you wish to.
